California Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law designed to inform consumers about potential exposures to chemicals identified by the State of California as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

The State of California maintains a list of more than 900 chemicals covered by Proposition 65. These chemicals may be found in a wide variety of consumer products, including certain footwear materials and components.

The penalties for not complying with Proposition 65 are steep. While we and our vendors may test for Proposition 65 listed chemicals in some products we sell, because of the steep penalties and out of an abundance of caution, we have elected to place this warning on our website to make sure that our customers are informed.

This warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe or that it will cause cancer or reproductive harm. While we believe our products are not harmful when used as designed, we provide the warning as a result of the California law.
